Baker University continues to work hard to support America'ss military personnel, and Military Advanced Education magazine has once again recognized the university as one of America'ss 2009 Top Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities.
Baker supports our troops by offering tuition discounts to military personnel and their spouses, offering a reduction of up to 50 percent in tuition rates for all active duty military, a
25 percent tuition discount for military spouses, plus a waiver on the $45 application fee. The university also is participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program with the Department of
Veterans Affairs, providing tuition benefits of $500/year for undergraduate and $1,000/year for graduate programs for eligible students.
Baker strives to assist our service members gain new educational advantages and the tuition discount helps students more than any other tool, said Marvin Hunt, dean of Baker'ss School of
Professional and Graduate Studies (SPGS).
At Baker, students receive college credit for all military training and specialized schools attended. Baker'ss Corporate Education Specialists travel to surrounding military bases to
visit with prospective students and introduce them to the advantages of Baker'ss degree programs. If deployed, Student Services works with students to withdraw and re-enter the program,
greatly simplifying the process.
Baker University has a rich history of supporting the cause of freedom and community needs for higher education, from its early beginnings when Abraham Lincoln donated $100 to help
construct Parmenter Hall on the Baldwin City campus. That spirit of enterprise continues today in the development of innovative programs for busy working adults.
