The Westchester Graduate Campus of Long Island University in Purchase, New York is offering two new master's8217;s degree programs beginning in the fall 2006 semester: Mental Health
Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.
Both programs equip individuals to work in mental health and social service agencies, clinics, hospitals and in private practice. Students are trained to be multiculturally competent and
sensitive to the needs of diverse populations.
In the 60 credit master's8217;s degree program in Mental Health Counseling, students are taught individual and group counseling techniques and consultation skills found to be effective
with a variety of clinical populations ranging from individuals with life adjustment issues to persons with serious mental illnesses. This program offers broad training that leads to
eligibility for New York State licensure as a Mental Health Counselor.
The Marriage and Family Therapy master's8217;s degree is a 48 credit program. Students are taught counseling techniques and consultation skills found to be effective with couples and
