AC Lens, a Columbus, Ohio online contact lens and eye care accessory retailer, announced that they will be donating $4,200 to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. What started out as one employee raising donations and walking for the cure turned into a company-wide event when President/CEO Peter Clarkson announced that the company would match any donation given to Team AC Lens during this fund raising event. With a goal of $2,000 dollars, the team was 105% to goal by race day, and the matching donation from their employer brought the total to $4200. Team AC Lens had participants who ran, walked, and even slept in for the cure. Their combined efforts in raising donations, along with the generous matching contribution made by AC Lens resulted in AC Lens being among the top 3 contributors in the 2009 Komen Columbus Race for the Cure.
I'sm thrilled that our company was able to support this event, and very proud of the efforts of our people who both participated in the race, and worked to raise money for such a
worthwhile cause, said CEO Peter Clarkson.
