San Diego based hardware and software manufacturer ARS Technologies, Inc. expanded its SSI2 line of products to include the SSI2_Host_CB product.
Peripheralrncards based on a variety of computer system buses increase thernfunctionality and add features in the standard computer systems.
The SSI2_Host_CB product allows customers to use:
- ISA bus peripheral cards, together with our
- PCI,
- and, PCMCIA
bus peripheral cards on notebook computers, which are equipped with a CardBus slot.
ThernISA bus has disappeared from the mainstream computer systems soldrntoday. However ISA bus peripheral cards are still developed and used inrnthe embedded, industrial, medical,
scientific and military markets.rnLikewise, there is a large area of applications that rely on previouslyrnpurchased and/or custom programmed ISA bus peripheral cards.
These users still want to use ISA bus peripheral cards on the modern computer hardware and on modern operating systems.
ARS Technologies' SSI2_ISA product, together with the SSI2_Host_CB product allows continued use of ISA bus peripheral cards on notebook computers, which are equipped with a CardBus slot.
The PCIrnbus is available on desktop computer systems and has been thernmainstream computer peripheral. However, manufacturing production ofrnnotebooks surpasses desktop computer
manufacturing numbers. Yet, thesernnotebook systems do not have PCI bus peripheral.
ARS Technologies' SSI2_PCI product, together with the SSI2_Host_CB product allows continued use of PCI bus peripheral cards on notebook computers, which are equipped with a CardBus slot.
Some modern notebook computers, which are equipped with a CardBus slot do not support 16bit 'PCCard' type PCMCIA cards.
ARS Technologies SSI2_PCMCIA product , together with the SSI2_Host_CB product permits continued use of PCMCIA bus peripheral on notebook computers, which are equipped with a CardBus slot.
