Carbonite Named Top Private Company Award Winner by AlwaysOn



Carbonite, the leading provider of online backup services to consumers and small businesses, recently announced it has been chosen by AlwaysOn (AO) as one of the 100 Top Private Companies for 2007. The fifth-annual elite AO100 list was compiled by the AlwaysOn editorial panel and selected from more than 1,000 nominations submitted by venture investors, investment bankers and other industry experts.



Carbonite and the AO 100 Top Private Companies for 2007 were honored at the AlwaysOn Stanford Summit held July 31 - Aug 2 at Stanford University, an executive gathering that highlights the significant economic, political and commercial trends affecting the global technology industries. The idea behind the AO100 top private companies list is to identify the most promising entrepreneurial opportunities and investments in the global technology industry.



Carbonite pioneered online backup services focused on the consumer market. To make Carbonite easy for consumers to use, Carbonite introduced the first unlimited pricing plan in the backup industry - $50 per year, no matter how much data you have. Carbonite was also the first online backup company to do away with the need for special user interfaces for selecting what you want to back up; Carbonite backs up all your data by default.
