New Version of Djigzo Open Source Email Encryption GatewayAvailable...

Today Djigzo have released a new version of their open source email encryption gateway product. The product now has full automatic encrypted remote backup, as well as support for encryption on BlackBerry handheld devices.

Djigzo is proud to announce the first upgrade of our email encryption Gateway. An important feature of the new release is automated timed backup to a predefined remote server. With this feature, it is now a fully stand alone and unattended encryption gateway.

The most important feature of this new release is full support for encryption on BlackBerry handheld devices. Together with Djigzo'ss handheld encryption software, our clients can now read encrypted email on BlackBerry devices without requiring a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Preparation for handheld encryption signals Djigzo'ss intent to fully support platform independent email encryption.

Martijn Brinkers, founder and developer at Djigzo, says: Our fully open source email encryption gateway allows organizations, both commercial corporations and government and not-for-profit organizations, to gradually move toward protecting their email. Because the product is free, there are no steep initial costs involved. Because we support the S/MIME standard, our product is compatible with other email encryption products.

Djigzo Email Encryption Gateway is an email server (or MTA) that encrypts and decrypts both your incoming and outgoing email. Because Djigzo serves as a general SMTP email server, it is compatible with any existing email infrastructure. Two encryption standards are currently supported: S/MIME and PDF encryption. PDF encryption can be used as a lightweight alternative to S/MIME encryption. Because no install or download is required, this is the ultimate low threshold email encryption. Password security is guaranteed because the randomly generated passwords are sent to recipients cell phone by text message. Djigzo is fully open source. It is available for free from our website http://www.djigzo.com. Sources and documentation can be downloaded for free. A VMware virtual appliance is available. Djigzo strongly believes that the open source model provides the best value for our customers. More importantly, making the source code available guarantees that our clients can verify the reliability and correctness of our software. Only software that you can verify can be truly secure.
