REAL Software Inc., providers of REALbasic, cross-platform that really works, announced today that REALbasic 2005 for Macintosh Release 3 is shipping. REALbasic 2005 for Macintosh is a rapid application development (RAD) environment that enables professional and non-professional programmers alike to quickly create software for the Macintosh, and even Windows and Linux, by clicking a checkbox.

"REALbasic 2005 for Macintosh is a powerful, easy-to-use visual development environment that helps developers create software quickly, which brings more software to the Macintosh," stated Geoff Perlman, president and CEO of REAL Software. "REALbasic 2005 for Macintosh is also similar to Visual Basic, which enables the over three million Visual Basic developers around the world to leverage their skills to create great software for the Macintosh. These developers gain an additional benefit as well -- their software runs on Windows and Linux -- because REALbasic is cross-platform that really works."

REALbasic 2005 for Macintosh Release 3 incorporates new features and functionality for improving developer productivity and product reliability, including:

- New 3D graphics capabilities enable graphics, charts, images and models to be generated without the use of third party software

"This release of REALbasic 2005 for Macintosh is a major advancement for creating real-time 3D graphic applications," said Joe Nastasi, president of Pyramid Design, a software firm that specializes in REALbasic consultation and development.
