VirtualConnect Technologies today announced the appointment of Brett Pyle to Vice President of Marketing. A seasoned international executive with 20 years of successful leadership and
general management experience, Pyle will direct the branding, marketing and partner channel strategies for VirtualConnect across its entire suite of product offerings.
"After two years serving on our Board of Directors, we're now thrilled to be able to access Brett's expertise full-time," said Virtual Connect CEO, David Setzer. "Brett joins us at an
exciting time of rapid growth, having tripled our revenues in the past year," Setzer added.
Earlier this year, VirtualConnect commissioned The Tolly Group, Inc. to conduct a performance road test of its flagship service, Mailprotector - an email spam, virus and attack filtering
hosted solution.
"Mailprotector's outstanding performance in that test demonstrated that our technology is sufficiently robust enough to consistently deliver results as good as or better than the likes of
industry leaders Postini and [recent Microsoft acquisition], Frontbridge", Pyle said. "Given that we don't require our customers to enter into complicated contracts to secure our service
and since we're able to provide Mailprotector to most small and medium-sized organizations at a considerable discount to these industry leaders," Pyle added, "it's clear that we're
uniquely positioned to succeed in this rapidly commoditizing world of hosted email security."
Prior to joining VirtualConnect, Pyle spent 15 years with BP and Amoco, where he served as a senior executive in marketing, channel partner management and general business management
roles on three continents. Pyle also spent 4 years with Andersen Consulting as a senior systems consultant. He received his B.S. Degree in Systems Engineering from the University of
Virginia and has attended numerous executive education offerings at Harvard Business School, Stanford's Graduate School of Business and The University of Cambridge.
Pyle's "experiences leading teams and managing partner channels in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific give him unique insights that will directly benefit us and our partners as we expand
here in North America and abroad," Setzer said.
"We're just now tapping into the vast potential of marketing through partner VARs," Pyle added. "In Mailprotector we've got an effective and reliable service offering that our customers
love. Now we've created a partner offering that provides VARs with an easy to implement email security solution for their customers and a lucrative recurring income stream for their
businesses. It's a powerful combination."
