Duluth MN -Haceinda de Sol Restaurant Renovation Project Designed With 500800 Year Old Timeless Tim
January 23, 2005 -- Timeless Timber, Inc of Ashland, WI a North American leader in the recovery, processing and marketing of environmentally recovered underwater logs that were cut down in US logging boom of the 1800's. These rare old growth virgin hardwood and softwood logs are all SCS certified, 100% underwater salvaged material and have been perfectly preserved in their watery graves for more than 125 years. With less than 3% of virgin growth timber still standing and protected in the US, these logs are prized for their tight grain, coloration and character, by fine wood craftsman, architects and high end builders looking for old growth timbers because of their renowned quality. Timeless Timber, Inc provides dimensional lumber, T&G flooring, end grain block flooring and custom mill work products on a national basis.
David Neitzke, President and CEO of Timeless Timber, stated "the customer who purchases Timeless Timber is looking for something that is truly unique and differentiating for their home or commercial business." The restaurant owners of the newly renovated Haceinda de Sol, in Duluth, MN were looking for just that special type of wood that would compliment the 1940's building where the restaurant was built. Woods that were derived from local historical logging in the 1800's, environmentally reclaimed, unique in character and differentiating from today second growth woods.
Working with along with Timeless Timber the owners and designers came up with a perfect match to meet their specifications; virgin old growth water recovered red birch. Known for its hardness and density, old growth birch offers exceptional colors from mellow yellows, hues of browns to deep blue sapphires. The variations in color and general character of the species allowed the designers and owners to use the Timeless Timber birch in many of the interior accents for the restaurant. The floor was designed with red birch strip flooring; the wall counters were made from birch blanks cut and finished from the natural curves of a single log. And the table tops were made from red birch end grain blocks, normally used for flooring.
As evident by the images, Timeless Timber red birch turned out to be and ideal match for fitting the environmental construction requirements of the building while also providing a unique and differentiating wood with a color pallet and quality suitable for almost any interior design accents.
SCS certified, highly sought by craftsman, and steep in historical value from a bygone era of US logging, rare Timeless Timber woods are sure to please the toughest of discerning customers, builders or designers.
