Great Taste Show to Feature Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia CN



March 5, 2005 -- Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce the selection of Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia Ltd. for its innovative, educational television series, Great Taste. The company will be featured in a segment on "Building Your Perfect Dream Home" in the Lifestyle Series.



Pioneer Log Homes features handcrafted, full-scribe log home construction, from log shell packages to full home packages complete with custom handcrafted windows, doors and cabinets. These range from small log cabins to more than 10,000 square feet of luxurious living space, built to order.



Logs are natural insulators radiating heat back into the home while, at the same time, providing an aesthetic look unmatched by any other building material. The company has access to the world's finest stands of Spruce, Fir, Pine and Western Red Cedar to utilize in its construction. All of the logs are hand-peeled using drawknives and then finished with axes and slicks to highlight the natural beauty of the wood.



Pioneer is a family business: After studying the almost lost art of handcrafted log home construction, Bryan Reid Sr. established Pioneer Log Homes of British Columbia in 1973. Since then the company has expanded into three fully operational building sites, Williams Lake, Soda Creek and Nimpo Lake. Close family support was essential to the success of the business, so brother, Andr Chevigny, came on board as the company's General Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations. Another brother, David Chevigny, established Pioneer Logging and now secures and harvests the timber used in construction. Son, Bryan Reid Jr., oversees the training and operations at the Nimpo Lake building site and brother, Keith Reid, owns and operates Mastercraft Cabinets, Windows and Doors Ltd. Pioneer has also established distributorships in the United States and Europe.



With more than 30 years of family tradition in business, Pioneer's homes are professionally constructed to the precise standards and demands of its clients. The architectural design department ensures the building of the perfect dream log home by using 3D CAD software to customize plans.
