These days, sewing is something of a lost art. With how easily accessible and affordable video games and out-of-this-world cell phones are nowadays, less people are taking the time to learn an underappreciated craft like sewing. For the people who want to dabble in this craft and are the slightest tech savvy, there'ss www.Sewing-Startup.com.
Sewing-Startup.com is a web venture from craft entrepreneur June Woltmann, who has been sewing for nearly five decades.
I wanted to build a business that was based from something that I loved doing, said Woltmann. I realized that there are people out there who want to learn how to sew, but may not be
familiar with the process. I want to provide that resource.
Having launched in December 2008, in nearly three months, Sewing-Startup has moved quickly to offer well-written and easy-to-understand tips for novice sewers. In addition to the
information featured on her site, Woltmann has also included an e-store within her site that has all the tools that a sewer would need.
I'sve included various kinds of sewing machines, sewing books and sewing needles, explained Woltmann.
Woltmann'ss store is constantly updated with all the latest sewing accessories. She'ss also expanding the features on her website to include kits, lists of what someone would need to
start a project and patterns.
Additionally, Sewing-Startup has recently added a new blog to their list of many features.
It will be a little more detailed with certain techniques, reviews of machines and other things related to sewing, Woltmann said of www.Sewing-Startup-Blog.com.
While there are many craft stores out there, very few of them are a singular resource where someone who just discovered sewing can get a machine, needles, patterns, scissors and - most
importantly - sound advice.
This is going to be a constant work-in-progress, said Woltmann. There are always going to be new sewers or people getting back into it and I want to have the best resource available to
them.
