Long Overdue National Event to Honor Vietnam Veterans

Operation Homecoming, Welcome Home 2006, proudly host The Heartland Benefit Concert, a fitting finale to a fabulous 2006 veterans's8217; homecoming celebration. The two-day concert will feature a number of A-list and B-list Nashville stars among the performers anxious to show our nation's8217;s Vietnam era veterans that their service and sacrifice have not been forgotten. Joining them will be a number of Branson's8217;s biggest stars with a liberal sprinkling of rock 's8216;n's8217; roll bands, acrobats, magicians and celebrity guest appearances. And that's8217;s not all. Vintage aircraft flyovers, aerobatics, fireworks, and hundreds of vendors will add to the festival effect of the Heartland Benefit Concert. Stars include Mickey Gilley, Chely Wright, Paulette Carlson, Johnny Lee, Doug Gabriel and a host of others.

Reflections from last's8217;s year event. 's8220;My first warm feeling came pretty quickly when a complete stranger came over to me, shook my hand and said 's8216;Thank you for your service.'s8217; Very uplifting.'s8221;

World War II veterans were 'sthe greatest generation,'s8217; Korean War veterans were the 'sforgotten veterans,'s but Vietnam veterans were the most disrespected and unwelcome of any veterans in the history of this nation. But no more - not after today.

No cause is a good cause unless it's8217;s a worthy cause. The Heartland Benefit Concert and Telethon will generate much needed funds for three very worthy charities--The Wounded Warrior Project, Operation Troop Aid, and Branson Veterans's8217; Task Force.

Kicking off the week will be a Vietnam Memorial Wall dedication ceremony at Mansion America Theater on Sunday, June 11th with festivities continuing throughout the week. 's8220;The Wall That Heals; large numbers of Hueys, LOHs, and Cobras circling overhead; thousands of strangers thanking us for our service and welcoming us home; a moving parade down the heart of Branson just for us; and a gigantic weekend concert especially for the VN veteran will make this experience an event to remember,'s8221; says Operation Homecoming Branson President Gary Linderer.

The Saturday concert is FREE for vets with huge discounts available for their wives and children. Seating is limited so register NOW by calling 1-800-335-4587.
