The Pirates are Back with a New Single and Album

The Pirates of the Mississippi are back on the airwaves with a new single Kickin's8217; Up Dust and a new album Heaven and A Dixie Night set for release August 29th, 2006.



After taking a break from recording for several years, original pirates Bill McCorvey and Rich Alves decided it was time to recapture the magic they had created with such hits as Honky Tonk Blues, Rollin Home, Fighting For You, and the much acclaimed Feed Jake. The Pirates won the New Vocal Group and Duo Award from the ACM in 1990.



The album will be released on Nashville-based Evergreen Records. Label President Johnny Morris said, I knew when I heard the music that the timing would be right for the Pirates to re-launch their career. Bill and Rich have co-written all songs on the album and the music is an honest reflection of their unique sound's8230; We at Evergreen are excited to be a part of the team.'s8221;
