Roger West Joins USF for a Spotlight on Careers in Marketing

Roger West Creative and Code (http://www.rogerwestcreative.com/About-Roger-West/who-is-roger-west.aspxtype=t's38;pressrelease=UWTB1) has been invited to join the collegiate chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) (http://www.ctr.usf.edu/AMA/) at the University of South Florida (USF) during their Careers in Marketing event on March 11th. The event is a panel discussion to help USF students learn more about career opportunities in the field of marketing.

Our goal is to expose student members to various career opportunities available to marketing majors says Jacqueline Raymond, VP of Professional Development for the USF AMA Collegiate Chapter. The panel features four thought leaders in the marketing industry, including Tom Hoof, Director of Marketing for the Tampa Bay Rays, Tara Hustedde, President of Pure Public Relations and Marketing, Erin Gray, Account Executive at Chappel Roberts, and Shanna Kurpe, Marketing Manager for Roger West Creative (http://www.rogerwestcreative.com/About-Roger-West/who-is-roger-west.aspx).

I think it'ss important to speak to students about career opportunities. Right now finding a job isn'st an easy task for anyone, let alone the next class of college graduates. If I can offer some advice or encouragement to at least one student, then it will be a worthwhile event, says Shanna Kurpe.

The panelists have been asked to speak about their background, motivation, company and their role within the company. My background is in Integrated Marketing Communication (http://www.rogerwestcreative.com/roger-west-services/integrated-marketing.aspx). That'ss a little bit of everything as far as marketing is concerned, and I'sve always played a versatile role within every organization I'sve worked with. The same is true at Roger West. Here I am part account executive, project manager, and marketing strategist, Kurpe says.

Introductions will be followed by a Q 's38; A session where students will have the opportunity to ask questions about careers in marketing. Marketing is an exciting career with a variety of options, says Kurpe. Online, traditional, public relations, copywriting, research and analysis; the opportunities for marketing majors abound.

The event takes place on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 6:00 PM in the College of Business (http://www.coba.usf.edu/) at the University of South Florida and is open to USF AMA collegiate members only.
