Alab LLC Granted United States Patent on QuickPure„ Oral Irrigator Technology for Treatment of Periodontitis



The QuickPure Oral Care Appliance cleans the mouth and teeth by irrigation with water containing dissolved ozone. Ozone, which is a potent germ-killer and oxidizer can reduce or eliminate gingivitis, periodontitis, gum bleeding, bad breath, teeth stains, thrush and harmful oral bacteria . Periodontitis is a very common disease affecting approximately 50% of U.S. adults over the age of 30 years. As well as cleaning teeth and refreshing the mouth, this inexpensive and easy to use small appliance could save users unpleasant and costly dental treatments and make them more attractive with sweeter breath. The estimated retail price would be $99 and the market several hundreds of $millions. Reducing oral bacteria may help prevent some serious diseases such as diabetes and coronary disease, in which oral bacteria have been implicated. This appliance could also substantially reduce or prevent dental tartar and caries, but this has not yet been confirmed. Other potential applications include treatment of sinus, ear, wound and eye infections and surface sanitation.

Advantages of the QuickPure ozone irrigator system include:

-Ozone is the only germ-killer that can inactivate all pathogens in a short time. It can destroy biofilms and endotoxins produced by bacteria.

-Ozone stops bleeding.

-Microorganisms do not develop resistance to ozone.

-An ozone sensor can provide assurance of proper operation.

-Ozone does not cause allergic reactions and no problems with accidental ingestion of disinfectant.
