New Dental DNA Technology in Local Seattle Dental Office

A new DNA medical technology is available in Seattle Washington in the dental practice of Dr. James McAnally. The technology helps each patient tested be one step closer to avoiding tooth loss due to infections in the gum and bone structure of the jaws (gum disease).

This new painless DNA test distributed by ADDX technologies helps determine which patients are at a greater risk for losing teeth so that the dentist can develop the most effective treatment option to prevent tooth loss and the need for dentures. For those patients with active gum disease, a second molecular test, also by ADDX, defines which bacteria are active in the infection and allows for a customized antibiotic regimen to be developed for the particular patient.

For patients about to undergo extensive reconstructive dental procedures or about to have costly dental implant procedures, the test helps define the risk of problems in the years ahead which can also impact treatment choices. Finally, because gum disease bacteria that enter the bloodstream create inflammation in other areas of the body beyond the gum tissue, a process now implicated for increasing the risk for other medical conditions such as heart attack, stroke, Alzheimer's, more difficulties controlling diabetes, and pancreatic cancer, by reducing the bacteria in chronically inflamed gum tissue, a patient may reduce their overall risks for these other medical problems. Dr. McAnally at http://www.dental911.us is one of the very first doctors in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest to use this technology to his patients benefit.
