VeraLight Names Linda Mackowiak Director of Scientific Affairs and...



VeraLight, Inc., a privately held medical company, announced the appointment of Linda Mackowiak, MS RN CDE, as the company's new Director of Scientific Affairs and Clinical Applications. Ms Mackowiak will spearhead efforts to foster clinical utilization of the company's proprietary SCOUT DS technology to non-invasively screen for type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes.



Mr. David Van Avermaete, CEO of VeraLight, commented, "We are very excited and fortunate that Linda has joined the VeraLight team. With more than 26 years of experience in the diabetes clinical and research field, Linda brings a comprehensive skill set that will be instrumental in helping the clinical community apply the SCOUT DS test in practice once approved. Prior to joining VeraLight, Ms Mackowiak most recently was with Abbott Diabetes Care as a Clinical Science Manager and Medtronic Diabetes as a Glucose Sensor Specialist and Senior Clinical Research Specialist. Before her move to industry, she was in adult and pediatric clinical nurse practice for 18 years. Ms Mackowiak holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing and is a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, and Certified Diabetes Educator.
