Coupon web site 'sA Full Cup's beat thousands of sites to win a Mashable Open Web Award. 'sA Full Cup's won the people'ss choice award in the 'show to's category. This is the second year of the Open Web Awards for major innovations in web technology. There were 50,000 nominations and over 160,000 votes in two rounds of voting. The award was given at the end of 2008 and highlights a trend that will likely continue through 2009 -- clipping coupons.
As coupons have made a comeback, 'sA Full Cup's is a place where people go for the best techniques for saving on the family grocery bill. Since 2009 is all about the economy and 'sA Full
Cup's is a coupon community, it'ss a timely fit. People are learning how to save money again. Clipping coupons is back in vogue.
'sA Full Cup's started with a few dozen people trading coupons, and today it'ss grown to nearly 100,000 members. Winning the Mashable Open Web Award confirms just how valuable this
community has become, said Monica Ullom, co-founder of A Full Cup.
Most manufacturer'ss coupons come either in the Sunday newspaper or in the mail. Members combine those coupons with sales and double coupons from stores. One 'sA Full Cup's member reports
saving thousands of dollars a year on her grocery bill by using store coupons combined with manufacturer savings. The story about how she saves $700 a month (the equivalent of a part-time
income) using coupons was recently featured on NPR (see http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/wkms/news.newsmainaction=article's38;ARTICLE_ID=1443398).
Fellow couponers share advice, talk about how to get free products, and find shopping lists on the site. For example, most people don'st know that Target stores let people combine their
store coupons with manufacturer coupons for extra savings on one item. 'sA Full Cup's simplifies the process.
Our Target coupon generator is really popular. You can go to our Target shopping list, find and print out Target coupons, and see if there'ss also a manufacturers coupon, said Ullom. Most
of all, she says, The 'sA Full Cup's community members love to teach people new to clipping coupons how to get the most out of couponing.
