Pima Medical Institute in Mesa Provides International Perspective for PrivatelyOwned Career College



A local career college with Valley roots has acquired an international perspective with the promotion of Kristen Torres as the Associate Campus Director of Pima Medical Institute, 957 S. Dobson Road in Mesa. Torres started working with PMI in the Admissions Support Center and most recently served as the Corporate Director of Business Development.

Prior to joining PMI, Torres worked as the International Admissions Manager for the University of Phoenix Online for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as serving as a Program Manager in Munich, Germany for Compaq/Hewlett Packard. She has traveled to 35 different countries and lived in five different countries (including the U.S) in the past 11 years.

Founded by Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, the privately-owned, Arizona-based company opened its first career college in Tucson in 1972. The Mesa campus has been in operation since 1986. There are now nine campuses in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mesa and Tucson, AZ., Denver and Colorado Springs, CO; Seattle and Renton, WA; Las Vegas, NV and Chula Vista, CA.

The Mesa campus offers programs for Dental Assistant, Massage Therapist, Medical Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Nursing (Associate of Applied Science), Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Physical Therapy Technician, Radiography (Associate of Occupational Studies degree), Respiratory Therapy (Associate of Occupational Studies degree) and Veterinary Assistant.
