Hochman graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree from JFK University in San Francisco and an MA from Holy Names University in Oakland. He spent several years in the education field, where he was known for developing cohesive teams that achieve high standards of professional excellence. He lives in Mount Lake Terrace with his wife Katie, a professional opera singer.
