New After School Program Helps Youth Become Independent by Teaching Them How to Start and Run their Own Business

Teens may soon be hiring help instead of looking for jobs, which is the goal of J.H. Entrepreneur Academy, based in Rocky Mount, NC.

Audrey Bell-Kearney, (Coach A.J. Kearney) who is a business coach and the President of J.H. Entrepreneur Academy says that small business is what keeps America going and now she wants to start young with the development of more small businesses, by teaching youth between 12 and 18 years old how to start and run their own business.

J.H. Entrepreneur Academy will instruct the students on everything from finding a business idea based on their passion and purpose in life, to writing a business plan, designing a website and developing a marketing plan. The school is designed to be an after school program that will run for 3 months for each session. The hours are 4pm to 7pm, which statistics have shown that these are the hours when most kids get into trouble.

Mrs. Bell-Kearney plan for the youth and the entrepreneur program is a 3 fold plan. She says that three things will happen when the kids go through her entrepreneur program;

1.    They will not be on the street getting into trouble and they will be learning how to turn ideas into money legally.
2.    They will learn what it means to become self-sufficient, an asset to the community and what it means to give back
3.    With everything it takes to run a business, the things that they will learn will help them to improve their grades in school.

In order for the training to be most effective, Mrs. Bell-Kearney says that she will keep the class size between 15 and 20 students per 3 month session. Registration is now open and classes will begin August 8, 2005. Call J.H. Entrepreneur Academy at 252-442-9987 for more information.
