La Ciotat Is the Meeting Place for Neuroscientists from All Over the World
For one thing, the movie was invented in La Ciotat and this is what director of the Mediterranean Institute of Neurobiology Yehezkel Ben-Ari and Gilles Trarieux-Lumire (remember the Lumire Brothers) is going to be talking about during the opening ceremony on Sunday September 4.
This international meeting is devoted to talks and posters about Nature and Nurturer in Brain Development. Among presentations are such topics that don't require too much of explanations -- such as the neuroanatomy of speech and language; language and literacy development; maps of the mind; neuronal networks and networking; adaptation to stress; early-life stress; anxiety-related behaviour; developmental disorders; brain maturation; etc.
There will be of course, very specialized lectures intended for neuroscientists only but you get the picture: this is a very important conference where researchers will try to improve their understanding of both theoretical and practical problems of brain diseases in order to better treat them.
The deadline for registration and abstract submissions is August 15, so if you are a neuroscientist, you have time to join!
