A new study published by the online journal Brain, show that not only do the brains of musically-trained children respond to music in a different way to those of the untrained children,
but also that the training improves their memory as well. Memory improvement impacts a variety of learning modalities including language, math, reading, spatial-temporal scores and more.
While this study used only the Suzuki method for this first test, the work has wide implications for any form of music education and teaching that can reach children at that critical
language acquisition age, such as the Piano Wizard Method.
For years now, Allegro Rainbow has been a strong proponent for the use of music education as a means to improve the development of children's8217;s minds. Piano Wizard, Allegro's8217;s
first music education tool, gives children as young as three the ability to learn piano in such an intuitive way, that many are playing piano within minutes. The popularity of Piano
Wizard as a teaching tool has spawned several Piano Wizard Academies nationwide where schools offer music education curriculum to even very young children around the Piano Wizard
method.
The study, done by researchers of McMaster University in Canada, followed the progress of twelve children, six of whom were musically trained, during the course of one year. The six
children that were musically trained showed different patterns of brain development compared with the six that were not. Past studies have shown that musical training can improve IQ
scores in older children, but this is the first study to prove that musical training can affect children as young as four years old.
's8220;The study reinforces the message we have been advocating for years now, music and music education is critical to the positive development of the minds of children,'s8221; said
Chris Salter, CEO of Allegro Rainbow. 's8220;With Piano Wizard's8217;s unique brand of intuitive music education, we have children as young as three who are learning to play Bach and
Beethoven. The positive response we have seen in our students from the Piano Wizard Academy has been nothing short of remarkable. Aside from showing improved grades in school, they also
demonstrated improved behavior both in class and at home.'s8221;

About Piano Wizard®
Allegro Rainbow's8217;s flagship product is Piano Wizard, a computer video game that teaches kids how to play piano through a simple, patented, video game method. With the Piano Wizard
software, colored notes's's 's8211; disguised as colorful icons like dinosaur eggs or rocket ships 's8211; travel along a straight line upward towards the same colored key on the computer
screen. The player then simply hits the same color key on their piano keyboard when the note reaches the colored piano keys on the screen. It is so simple, children as young as three can
play Beethoven in minutes. Conventional teaching methods emphasize learning notation and theory first, which is contrary to our natural learning process. Piano Wizard teaches the user how
to play a song first, and later provides insight into musical theory. At advanced levels, the software rotates the screen so that the notes are traveling horizontally, mimicking the lines
of the staff. Now the notes are moving across the screen exactly the way music is read, demonstrating to the user the underlying logic of musical notation and theory.
