Dr. Ron Kelley, a 33-year old African-American college professor and independent record label CEO in Houston, Texas, has developed a unique formula for producing high standardized test
scores in the classroom. He recently released Edu-Rap, Volume I, an educational rap CD that has helped raise standardized test scores by over 30 points at some schools.
As a school Principal, he saw a need to get inner-city students excited about school and also increase their test scores. He decided to use the students's love for rap music and his
personal knowledge of the music form to the school'ss advantage. He used his knowledge of the school curriculum to create catchy rap songs that give students information about various
subjects and test-taking tips.
The CD has quickly spread throughout the nation and Dr. Kelley has been featured on Radio Disney, as a part of the Black Entertainment Television(BET) Hoops and Hip Hop Tour, and as a
motivational speaker at many schools throughout the nation. Having been introduced to working with at-risk youth as a member of his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi, Dr. Kelley has turned his
passion for helping students excel into a successful career in education and the music industry.
