Japanese Businessman Makes English Grammar Corrections For a Native...



Japanese fashion consultant Kohei Onagan opens an email from his colleague in New York to find a cover letter full of gramitical mistakes. He quickly warns his friend to not send the email to his company. Kohei suggests if he may fix the grammer mistakes for his friend.



An excerpt from the email reads

"In second grade I was the only kid in class that could fold origami. My teacher allowed me to sell the folded pieces of loose-leaf for 25cents each in class." The new changes were made as follows: "In the second grade I was the only kid in class who could fold origami. My teacher allowed me to sell the folded pieces of loose-leaf for 25 cents each in class."



Many Americans drop prepostions in their sentences such as "the" or cannot distinguish the difference between when to use "who" instead of "that". Children in the United States are not corrected enough when speaking and hence it follows in their writing. While international students rarely speak English however, their instence studies of mechanics and grammer eventually lead to better writing.
