Preschool Owner Teacher from Gloucester MA Launches Educational Website...

The Adventures of Scuba Jack in association with Majestic Harbor Community School.

A pre-school teacher from Gloucester, MA has created a website that provides children with the opportunity to learn preschool concepts in an innovative, fun, and educational way. The site was designed initially with home schooled children in mind, but the recent economic hardships facing so many young families is bringing the site in some new and exciting directions.

This site, described as impressive by Gloucester Kindergarten teachers, provides curriculum, crafts, workbooks and educational videos which work together to help parents simulate a typical preschool day for their children. The Adventures of Scuba Jack offers parents a resource to help their children succeed academically, said the site'ss creator, Beth Costanzo, M Ed., owner of Majestic Harbor Community School.

When asked about her pre-school program, Costanzo gushed while recalling the local teachers who have told her how Majestic Harbor students are quickly and easily recognized in Kindergarten classrooms because they are so advanced academically.One teacher at West Parish School was heard to comment The children who attend Majestic Harbor truly exceed our expectations. As the compliments and accolades rolled in, Costanzo began to realize there were all the children beyond her local reach who would benefit from her program. This lead to the creation of her website, www.adventuresofscubajack.com.

Unlike other sites, the Adventures of Scuba Jack will offer helpful articles for parents, seminars for teachers, and assessment tools for both parents and teachers for monitoring the skill levels of their children. Games, crafts and much more can be found on the ever changing site.

Costanzo noted the regularly updated site will be the only site to offer videos of actual classroom lessons enforcing all of the concepts a child would learn in preschool. The idea for the site and its content came about when Ms. Costanzo noticed a major shortage in quality educational curriculum for pre-school aged children. She hopes her concept will one day help to reform our pre-school educational system as we know it.

Virginia Koulouris, mother of a Majestic Harbor graduate said her daughter entered Kindergarten this year with reading skills close to that of a second grader! Her daughter participates in a first grade reading group a couple of times per week because she is so much further along than her classmates.

Anu Pillai, another parent of a Majestic Harbor graduate, stated that her daughter was so advanced for her age, the elementary school she attends had to order advanced curriculum books to keep her and another child from Majestic Harbor challenged and engaged in their Kindergarten classroom.

Costanzo explained with her site students can participate in an educational experience that prepares them for Kindergarten from the comfort of their own home. A recent article posted on msn.com discussing the current economic climate stated that as a result of widespread layoffs, young families have had to cut costs, and many of them have no choice but to pull their children out of preschool.The Adventures of Scuba Jack team is developing an innovative new program designed to assist these families. A formal announcement of the program can be expected in early 2009.

Costanzo will continue to teach her students at Majestic Harbor, and will be publishing several children'ss stories next year. Her DVD series The Adventures of Scuba Jack was recently launched, and the first episode, Tide Pools, has received rave reviews from children and parents from all over the country.
