Take An Animation Vacation With Kid Filmmakers

May 18, 2005 -- Are you an animation fan Do you love Japanese anime and movies like Fantasia and The Incredibles Do you think you've got what it takes to become a world-class animatorKid Filmmakers, the year-round traveling filmmaking academy for ages 9-17, is proud to introduce "Animation Vacation", a full-day summer workshop devoted to the art of animation.



According to instructor Adam Campbell, workshop participants will create their own computer animation. "They'll learn scriptwriting and storyboarding and how to make zoetropes and flipbooks," says Campbell. A professional screenwriter, animator and creator of "Doodle Do" (a unique children's animation kit), Campbell has written for Walt Disney Television and has sold numerous options on original screenplays. He is a two-time recipient of the coveted Chesterfield fellowship sponsored by Steven Spielberg and is currently developing a new animated television series in collaboration with animator Adam Burke(The Iron Giant, The Incredibles).



Held at the Hilltown Cooperative Charter Public School, 124 Main Street, in Haydenville, Massachusetts, two Animation Vacation workshops are scheduled from 9 AM-4 PM: Program I--Monday, July 25 thru Friday, July 29 and Program II--Monday, August 8 thru Friday, August 12.The cost of each one-week session is $225.00 ($195.00 for Kid Filmmakers Club members) which includes one-year Kid Filmmakers Club membership and newsletter subscription.



Debuting in 2002, Kid Filmmakers is available year-round to schools and organizations for after school, weekend and summer programs. Taught by experienced movie industry professionals, Kid Filmmakers introduces children to acting, animation, costuming, directing, editing, film critiquing, lighting and sound, producing, screenwriting, videography and 16mm filmmaking.
