Taste of Texas Restaurant Celebrates Texas History Education

The Taste of Texas Restaurant is celebrating 25 years of hosting local 4th grade students for a unique Texas History Tour. More than 250,000 area children have enjoyed viewing the restaurants incomparable collection of museum quality artifacts, signatures and memorabilia from Texas pioneers such as Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston, Gail Borden, and David Crockett. After an exciting interactive presentation by Texas history enthusiast, Nina Hendee, and a fun visit to the kitchen to see how meals are prepared, the young guests are treated to a delicious complimentary lunch before they return back to school.

Avid supporters of education, Taste of Texas owners Edd and Nina Hendee believe in rewarding their own staff for outstanding performance in academics. As an incentive, grade bonuses of up to $400 per semester are awarded to many of the 220 employees who are taking classes. At the Taste of Texas it truly pays to study hard!

On November 19th, the Taste of Texas Restaurant will celebrate its 29th birthday. Proudly serving Certified Angus Beef since 1977, this family owned steakhouse provides an unparalleled fine dining experience. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and many other special occasions are celebrated with complimentary desserts and pictures to commemorate the event. Highly trained wait staff are attentive to every detail and make the Taste of Texas experience one that causes patrons to return again and again.
