Tutorcom Appoints Dr Terry Crane to Its Board of Directors Dr Crane...

May 20, 2005 -- Tutor.com the leading provider of one-to-one learning and information services for libraries, education institutions and individuals announced today that Dr. Therese "Terry" Crane, former Vice President for Education and Family Products at AOL, has been appointed as an independent director. Dr. Crane is the seventh director on the Board that also includes former Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich.



Dr. Crane has spent more than 30 years as an educator, technology expert and leader in the education field. Her distinguished career includes serving as a Vice President at AOL where she was responsible for the company's education strategy and initiatives including AOL@SCHOOL, the Research and Learn, and Parenting categories. She previously served as President of Compass Learning, formerly Jostens Learning Corporation, where she oversaw the management of the company's core K-12 software business and served as the key liaison to the education community. In the 1990's, Dr. Crane led Apple Computer's North American Education Division.



Today, Dr. Crane sits on the boards of several prominent education companies that serve the K-12, higher education and library markets. Dr. Crane also serves on the National Education Association Foundation Board, Association for Teacher Education Commission for Technology and Teacher Education and the University of North Texas Education Advisory Board. In her current career as an educational consultant, she works solely with companies and institutions that are seeking to move into the 21st century with real solutions for challenging educational issues.

Dr. Crane earned a doctoral degree in administrative leadership and a master's degree in early childhood education from the University of North Texas, and a bachelor's degree in elementary education and mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin.



In addition to Dr. Crane, the Board of Directors includes Robert Reich, former Secretary of Labor under President Clinton and currently Professor at Brandeis University; John Reid, Chairman of Cross Cultural Solutions and former President of Edison Schools; Edward Scheetz, Co-Chief Executive Officer of NorthStar Capital; Daniel DeWolf, Managing Director of Dawntreader Group; Sang Ahn, Vice President of Dawntreader Group; and, George Cigale, founder and CEO of Tutor.com.
