Howard Makes Capital Investment in Mendenhall Facility and BeginsLED...

Howard Lighting Products (HLP) announces its latest capital investment in their Mendenhall facility. At a time when many competitors have closed their doors, Howard has demonstrated their commitment to the lighting industry by signing a long term lease agreement with Simpson county, and purchasing an Amada NT Series turret punch press and two Amada FBDIII5012NT press brakes, which will allow them to expand their manufacturing capabilities, as well as their product offerings.

This state-of-the-art equipment, from a company that is known worldwide as a leader in turret punch press technology, is a true advance in industry standards. Significant increases in speed, along with smoother speed transition allow for increased parts production in less time. And, in keeping with Howard'ss environmental conscience, electrical consumption for this punch press is less than one-half of comparable hydraulic machines, which reduces its overall impact on the environment.

According to HLP manufacturing engineer William Lee, We expect this equipment will help us further streamline our product development and manufacturing processes, as well as reduce operating costs.

Along with this latest acquisition, Howard continues to break new ground by introducing LED production at its facility. LEDs contain no Mercury; have a life expectancy of 50,000+ hours, and use 50% less energy than traditional lighting systems, making them a greener lighting solution. LED production will include Cobra Head fixtures, Canopy fixtures, Wall Packs, and Floods.

We'sre always looking for ways to produce quality lighting products faster, easier, and more economically and our move into LED production is another facet of that endeavor, said Derral Ward, HLP Vice President.

About the company: Howard Lighting Products is committed to a brighter future. We'sre doing our part by designing and manufacturing energy-saving lighting that is safer, and preserves the environment. We offer a full line of high-quality, fluorescent and HID ballasts, fixtures, and lamps for both commercial and residential uses. Our products are in use at numerous government facilities, including Johnson Space Center, Kennedy Space Center, Camp Pendleton, and CIA headquarters at Langley.
