New OutageAvoidance Technology Now Available as Turnkey Service from...

Exacter, Inc., makers of the EXACTER Outage-Avoidance System, announce today that their breakthrough technology that identifies failing components on overhead electrical lines will now be available as a turnkey service. "Many utilities don't have the resources to deploy Distribution Overhead Preventive Maintenance programs as quickly as they would like," states John Lauletta, President of Exacter, Inc. "Offering EXACTER as a turnkey service makes it easier and faster for utilities to get the improved reliability results they are looking for without the burden of resource planning and management."

The EXACTER TurnKey Service includes: 1) a survey of specified overhead circuits, 2) identification and location of failing components on those circuits, 3) GPS mapping and urgency prioritization of the problem locations, 4) pinpointing components that are failing -- including site photographs, and 5) optionally, performing the actual repairs.

Exacter technology is a strategic weapon in the fight for distribution reliability. Our TurnKey Service offers utilities the ability to simply choose the target (critical areas, worst-performing circuits, etc.) and we complete the mission," states Geoffrey Bibo, Vice President at Exacter, Inc. "We've designed our TurnKey Service to be both comprehensive and flexible. For some utilities we will do everything -- including replacing line components. For others, we will simply provide the maps and photographs, and the utility will perform the service work themselves. What our customers are telling us is that by having us provide the service, they get the information they want, within a specified time frame, and for a specified budget. It's all very simple."

The EXACTER Outage-Avoidance System is breakthrough technology that has the capability of identifying failing components over a broad geographical area to help utilities pre-empt outages with proactive preventive maintenance. Unlike IR or RF systems that require significant on-the-ground resources and time to locate problems, EXACTER can survey hundreds of square miles of overhead line in a matter of days. EXACTER analytics operate at a 98.7% accuracy rating -- meaning when EXACTER locates a problem, action is required.

"With 18 months in the field, tens of thousands of miles surveyed, and experience with more than 40 different utilities in three countries, EXACTER technology is truly field-proven," continued Lauletta. "Our customers have been a big part in refining the technology to give them the information they want in formats that are most useful for proactive preventive maintenance. Offering the technology and surveys as a turnkey service is just another way we are responding."
