The Grand Designs Show took place at ExCel London from 3rd May to the 11th May. One of the busiest stands belonged to cutting edge kitchen appliance brand, De Dietrich. On the stand were many of the latest De Dietrich appliances (http://www.appliancecity.co.uk/productlist.aspmk=De%20Dietrich) including the innovative Downdraught Extractor and fantastic Induction Wok hob which was recently showcased on Five's 'The Gadget Show'.
De Dietrich requested that Appliance City assist them for the entire duration of the Grand Designs Show and support the brand by sending a representative to London to demonstrate the
products alongside De Dietrich staff. Appliance City Sales Manager Paul Barker attended and helped to negotiate exclusive package deals with the general public and demonstrated the new
range of De Dietrich built in appliances.
How do Induction Wok Hobs work
One of the most common questions answered by Appliance City and De Dietrich at the event was, "How does it work". To answer this question briefly, the induction hob features a powerful
high frequency electromagnet. When a pan, wok or other magnetic material is placed into the magnetic field generated by the element the field transfers, or 'induces' energy into it. This
transferred energy causes the wok or pan to become hot. By altering the strength of the magnetic field the heat level can be controlled.
Event Success
The Grand Designs Show was a huge success for both De Dietrich and Appliance City, creating tremendous exposure for both brands and showcasing a high quality range of appliances to the
thousands of people who attended.
