Design Chain Associates LLC Provides China RoHS Information

As the Chinese Government has said that an official English translation will not be provided any time soon, DCA is working with a large, international law firm to have this legislation translated and will post it on the website when it becomes available. The importance of this can not be understated: companies and governments in World Trade Organization member states have 60 days from the notification date to comment on the proposed legislation. If the industry should learn one thing from it's8217;s experience with the European Union's8217;s environmental legislation (RoHS and WEEE, 2002/95/EC and 2002/96/EC respectively), it's8217;s that clarity and completeness of requirements must be a part of this type of law as early as possible. China RoHS is lacking in details necessary to enable the electronics industry to adequately determine the impact of this law and prepare to meet it.
