RadioScape to launch the new Integra's8482; DAB/DMB Professional Broadcast System Range at IBC 2006
IBC 2006 Hall 8 stand 353
London, UK 's8211; RadioScape, a world leader in digital audio and multimedia broadcast and receiver technology, will be launching the innovative Integra's8482; range of products at IBC
2006. These are designed to further establish the company as the provider of choice for professional audio and multimedia broadcast systems based on the Eureka 147 Digital Audio
Broadcasting (DAB) and Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) standards.
Integra One's8482; - Single-box DAB/DMB Broadcast System
For the first time, a complete DAB/DMB broadcast system has been shrunk into a single, rack-mountable 19's8221; 4U unit. This compact solution forms part of RadioScape's8217;s new
Integra's8482; family of single-box solutions for DAB/DMB broadcasting and monitoring. Key features of the Integra One's8482; include up to 16 integral MUSICAM encoders and full data
multiplexing capabilities - with up to 4 DMB channels and unlimited IP tunneling, Multimedia Object Transfer (MOT), Packet Associated Data (PAD), Packet and Stream inputs.
The Integra One's8482; can use both analogue and digital audio sources with automatic sample rate conversion where required and be configured to use either internal audio capture cards,
third-party networkable audio nodes or full remotely managed MUSICAM encoders (Integra SP's8482;) for use in multiple service provider configurations. The system is based on
RadioScape's8217;s unique multicast audio distribution architecture and is therefore fully compatible with existing RadioScape installations, which are currently used in the world's8217;s
largest DAB and DMB networks.
The unit is designed specifically to reduce operational and support costs with quad-redundant power supplies, dual power inlets and independent battery-backed SNMP (Simple Network
Monitoring Protocol) monitoring capabilities. The unit makes use of Windows XP Embedded on solid-state memory and RAID configured hard-disks for the ultimate in reliability. The system
can also be supplied with full lights-out management and non-intrusive remote management if required.
This single 19's8221; 4U solution replaces the equivalent of up to 20 separate units that take up to 8 times more rack space in competing legacy solutions. This represents a leap forward
in reliability, ease of maintenance, power consumption and rack occupancy 's8211; thus lowering the Total Cost of Ownership of a DAB/DMB multiplexer system.
Integra's8482; TXM Transmitter monitor and Integra's8482; SFN Single Frequency Network monitor
These monitors are also part of RadioScape's8217;s Integra's8482; range of single-box solutions, housed in a single 1U chassis and designed to monitor DAB/DMB signal and transmission
network integrity. The Integra's8482; TXM Transmitter Monitor is designed to be co-located at a transmitter site to monitor broadcast signal quality, whereas the Integra's8482; SFN Single
Frequency Network Monitor is designed to monitor a number of transmitters, checking for a potentially disastrous loss in synchronisation of the single frequency network required for
successful DAB/DMB transmission.
These receivers are based on the same technology as used in the Integra's8482; FMR, the advanced portable field monitoring solution, which is capable of providing a wide range of metrics
on DAB, DMB and DAB-IP broadcasts. The Integra's8482; FMR has already been used very successfully in a large number of trials and network planning exercises for DAB and mobile multimedia
networks in both Europe and Asia.
Broadcast System version 5.1
This is the latest version of RadioScape's8217;s Professional Broadcast system software powers the leading broadcasting solution for DAB and Mobile TV (MTV) around the world, with over 60
live installations and numerous broadcast trials. This version has a new suite of functionality to address the latest MTV and advanced data transmission requirements to meet the growing
need for features that extend DAB into new and exciting business areas whilst optimising the use of available spectrum. These include Enhanced Packet Mode data, enabling the integration
of third-party Conditional Access systems, advanced EPG features, and the ability to support Asian language labels, DLS and data carousels.
