Wholesale (http://www.chinavasion.com) importers from China will experience delays in their orders, as businesses across China close their doors for the Lunar New Year festival this February. Shipping freight from China will slow to a crawl, and most airfreight will stop completely from February 6 to February 14 when the country celebrates the traditional New Year / Spring Festival.
While Chinese manufacturers are slowly making compensations for the needs of their Western customers, according to China electronics wholesaler Chinavasion.com businesses buying from
Chinese suppliers should still expect delays.
Chinavasion Wholesale Ltd. Public Relations Manager, Rose Li, said: "It can be a shock to those who have just started doing business with China, but it is a fact of life when you're
importing from China."
Dates can sometimes be confusing for newcomers to the China wholesale (http://www.chinavasion.com) scene, as the public Chinese New Year holiday
is from February 7 to February 9 but in practice the vacation period taken by Chinese people lasts from January 25 to at least February 15.
"Exports and delivery complications can occur as early as the last week of January and backlogs created by the holiday are unlikely to clear till the latter half of February," Rose Li
said.
But it's not all doom and gloom. Chinavasion's Rose Li stated that sellers should be able to keep their customers satisfied by ordering stock of products during early and mid- January,
and keeping a larger inventory than normal to ensure they always have products on hand.
"With a little advance planning, and a reliable wholesale distributor, you can keep your goods supply more or less uninterrupted."
The strategy suggested by experienced China wholesale importers is simply to buy more goods before the holiday period begins.
"It can be a difficult time for wholesale importers and Ebay dropshippers but those difficulties can be limited by placing orders for goods in advance," said Steve Wu, Support
Representative for some of Chinavasion's key powerseller customers. "The Chinese New Year is predictable and the main thing is just not to underestimate the effect on Chinese
manufacturers."
Chinavasion's warehouse will resume operations as soon as the couriers, including DHL and FedEx, re-start after the Chinese New Year. Deliveries will be suspended from February 3 till
February 14, but disruption beyond this period is expected to be minimal.
Chinavasion will still offer customer support via email and live chat.
