Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run Cherry Blossom Ten-Miler Raises $400,000 For Children'ss National Medical Center

Over the last year, credit unions raised $1 million for children'ss hospitals nationwide, including approximately $400,000 for Children'ss National Medical Center, through fundraising activities associated with the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run.

Washington, DC-- Over the last year, credit unions raised $1 million for children'ss hospitals nationwide, including approximately $400,000 for Children'ss National Medical Center, through fundraising activities associated with the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run.

At a check presentation ceremony held at Children'ss National Medical Center on April 3, Juri Valdov, chairman of the Credit Union Miracle Day, Inc., the race title sponsor group, and former president/CEO of Northwest FCU, presented a check for $1 million to Judy Graham, vice president of development at Children'ss National Medical Center. The credit unions also held a play day with patients at the hospital.

We are so fortunate to count the credit unions among our most dedicated supporters, Graham said. The dollars they raise help support the hospital'ss neediest programs and benefit children in our region and beyond.

Valdov said, It'ss full circle for us, presenting this $1 million check to Children'ss Miracle Network at Children'ss National Medical Center. It all began here, in D.C., and now we'sve gone nationwide. We couldn'st be prouder of our sponsoring credit unions's continuing strong commitment to helping kids, now more than ever during this economic downturn.

Through the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, credit unions and business partners from across the nation join together in Washington, D.C. to raise money to benefit the Children'ss Miracle Network alliance of premier hospitals for children. The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run takes place through the city streets of the nation'ss capital during the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Children'ss National Medical Center is the local Children'ss Miracle Network hospital.
