The Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN) and RecruitMilitary, LLC, have signed a cooperative agreement to strengthen the nationwide efforts of both organizations--especially
to increase job opportunities for military spouses through attendance at RecruitMilitary Career Fairs. The agreement will also help spouses who use online job-search mechanisms of the
MSCCN and RecruitMilitary, and it will help both organizations spread the word to employers regarding the advantages of hiring military spouses.
RecruitMilitary Career Fairs
RecruitMilitary produces career fairs in cooperation with the President'ss National Hire Veterans Committee (HireVets First), a part of the United States Department of Labor. The company
has scheduled 32 events in 15 cities during 2007--Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville, Nashville, Philadelphia, Raleigh, San Diego, San
Francisco, Seattle, and Tampa. Due to the overwhelming success of the first five career fairs, RecruitMilitary will soon announce an additional 15 locations and dates. Attendance at
recent events has ranged from 600 to 1,000 job seekers, including veterans, personnel who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, Guard and reservists, and military spouses.
As a result of the agreement, the MSCCN will be the exclusive partner for RecruitMilitary Career Fairs within the military-spouse community. MSCCN will attend all events, assist in their
operation, and encourage spouses and other MSCCN partners to attend and provide support.
Job Opportunities for Military Spouses
Both the MSCCN and RecruitMilitary enable military spouses to register as job seekers in their online databases, which are made available to employers. The employers may search the
databases, and they may post jobs on them. MSCCN'ss database consists of military spouses, military kids, and war wounded and CareGivers to war wounded. The RecruitMilitary database (now
numbering 145,000+) consists of veterans, transitioning military, Guard and reservists, and military spouses.
Hiring Opportunities for Employers
Many employers in Corporate America already recognize what a powerful resource the military-spouse employee channel can be. Military spouses comprise a workforce that is extremely
talented, diverse, eager, and job-portable. As a result of the agreement between the MSCCN and RecruitMilitary, both organizations will have more job-seeking spouses to present to
employers and more mechanisms for employers to utilize to access this talented workforce.
About the MSCCN
The Military Spouse Corporate Career Network is a first-of-its-kind, non-profit corporate direct hire program dedicated to providing career opportunities and job portability for military
spouses and their families. The MSCCN was founded by a staff of dedicated military spouses who are funded by a nationwide network of employers who have stepped up to the plate to support
our nation'ss military, war wounded, caregivers to the war wounded, and military spouses and their families. More information about the MSCCN is available from Deb Kloeppel, the president
of the organization, at dkloeppel@msccn.org or at www.msccn.org.
