#8211; Lower Mainland students interested in pursuing a nursing career will have a new training option this fall. This November, CDI College 's8211; Canada's8217;s leading private vocational trainer 's8211; will launch the Practical Nursing program at two campuses in the Greater Vancouver region.
's8220;Practical Nurses are still in high demand in British Columbia,'s8221; says Dr. Bohdan Bilan, Vice President of Academics at CDI College. 's8220;The retirement of current LPNs
combined with an increased need for nursing care from our aging population is driving the demand in this career field.'s8221;
The addition of the new nursing program expands CDI College's8217;s range of health care training programs in BC, which already includes industry recognized training programs for
Intra-Oral Dental Assisting, Addictions and Community Services Worker and Medical Lab Technician among others. Like all CDI programs, students will train in a hands-on learning
environment with experienced practitioner-instructors. In addition, the curriculum adheres to the training standards established by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British
Columbia (CLPNBC).
's8220;We want to supply the highest quality of graduates to meet the needs of both the service providers and the patients,'s8221; adds Bilan, 's8220;so our students are not only taught
the practical and technical aspects of a nursing job, but are also encouraged to develop strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills fit for the real world.'s8221;
CDI College launches its Practical Nursing program in Vancouver on November 30, 2009. This will be followed by the commencement of the program at the Surrey Campus in January, 2010. The
college is currently accepting applications for both sessions
