May 3, 2005 -- The Pharmacy Technician students and instructor at Pima Medical Institute, 370 Printers Parkway in Colorado Springs recently presented a free seminar on Medical Usage
Versus Over the Counter Medications to individuals at Silver Key, a senior citizens center located at 2250 Bott Ave in Colorado Springs.
The seminar is one of the outreach projects PMI hosted in recognition of Medication Safety Week April 1- 7. A second seminar is scheduled for another retirement community later in the
month.
"With all the choices and direct advertisements flooding the market regarding both prescription and over-the-counter drugs, it can be very confusing for people to make decisions," said
Karen McGrath, campus director for the Colorado Springs career college. "By having these seminars we provide a little insight into the difference between the two, and also encourage
individuals to talk to the on-duty Pharmacist if they still have questions or concerns."
