Toronto, Ontario - The Local Guru announces today the national launch of its online networking tool designed for Canadian communities. Unlike many employment posting sites, which target full-time or contract employment positions, the Local Guru aims to connect people with a variety of skills, from child care givers & counselors to mechanics & software developers, with individuals in their local area who require specialized services.



The Local Guru is the brainchild of Ingersoll native Geoff Whittington whose company, Fireball Technology Group, created the software that runs the website. "We created this website to provide promotional tools for small business owners and individuals who are looking for new business or casual work, and would not otherwise have access to this kind of marketing capability," says Mr. Whittington.



Interested individuals can visit www.thelocalguru.com to register their skills, an email address, and availability. Visitors to the site can easily search the site for experts in their area using a keyword search or by navigating the skill directory. The Local Guru immediately contacts a member when a visitor sends them a message through the system. The system is designed to maximize communication between its members and interested parties while protecting against most types of spam.



"The Local Guru has a mission to provide secure, affordable networking within Canadian communities, " says Mr. Whittington. The Local Guru welcomes user feedback to continuously improve the effectiveness of the site.



In an effort to further promote the new website, The Local Guru is offering premium membership packages at no cost for those Canadians who join before June 15, 2005. The premium membership allows users to post their own skill descriptions, network for other skills in their area, post testimonials, and create articles about their areas of specialty.
