MultiTrode Releases New Video on Outpost2 SCADA for Lift Stations

MultiTrode's new video on Outpost2 (http://www.multitrode.com/news.cfmitem=288.0) gives a 30-minute introduction into the capabilities of this innovative software. This allows prospective end-users and system integrators to evaluate the main functionality, and see the level of information provided from the field.

Outpost2 for lift stations (http://www.multitrode.com/products/outpost2_software/overview.cfm) is built on an open SCADA platform and is designed to showcase the capabilities of the MultiSmart pump station manager (http://www.multitrode.com/products/MultiSmart/overview.cfm). Most water and wastewater utilities are used to having 10-20 points of data per lift station. Outpost2 provides 400-500 for a typical lift station which allows a new approach to control, monitoring and asset management.

Steve Carson, Group Marketing Manager, said, "For utilities with stretched budgets, the Outpost2 system provides a high return on investment, as staff can turn from reactive fire fighting to predictive maintenance, while operations are able to diagnose problems and safely reset faults without visiting the site."

Outpost2 also includes powerful reporting features on flow data, fault analysis, energy usage and pump efficiency. Adding minor asset data into the reporting allows for comprehensive I/I (inflow and infiltration) reports, and assessment of pump efficiency by vendor.

End-users can add MultiSmart sites themselves, because the package includes an "add site" innovation. As the platform is open, with OPC and ODBC interfaces, end-users and system integrators can extend the functionality in Outpost2 - as with any other modern SCADA platform.
