Industry Directions Appoints William Brandel as Principal and Industry Analyst



May 14, 2005 -- Brandel will develop and deliver research and client projects on software products and services for the supply network space, focusing on technologies and results-driven business practices that enable effective organizational alignment, visibility, collaboration, and optimization of supply chain process alignment and execution in enterprises and trading networks.

Prior to joining Industry Directions, William garnered frontline business and technology experience by guiding the vision, functional development and execution of a number of Internet-based business projects. He served as director of Supply Chain Technology Research for the Aberdeen Group, a research firm focused on the market positioning of technology companies. There, Brandel developed the Business Process Network (BPN) model to facilitate inter-enterprise supply chain collaboration. Previously, Brandel acted as director of e-Commerce operations at BuyerZone.com a Net marketplace targeting small to midsize buyers and suppliers. Brandel also directed the Electronic Commerce program at Corporate Software & Technology, Inc. (CS&T), a software value-added reseller that served Fortune 500 accounts. Prior to this, Brandel was editor-in-chief of @Computerworld, an award-winning news and community portal targeting corporate IT managers. Additionally, he has spent more than 10 years reporting and editing in the business and computer trade press, covering the impact of technology on business.

Brandel holds a BA in Journalism from Michigan State University, and is a candidate for a Masters in Education Technology.
