Horizons International Taps Gurango Software

May 21, 2005 -- Horizons International - a US-based developer of manufacturing and accounting software applications - has contracted Gurango Software to distribute its solutions to the Asia Pacific market.

Gurango Software is the first Manila-based global software distributor for industry-specific business applications, and is a Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) accredited value-added reseller (VAR). Horizons International is an MBS-accredited Independent Software Vendor (ISV).

Under the terms of the partnership agreement signed by the companies, Gurango Software will market and distribute Horizons International's products in Asia Pacific, provide technical support for implementation, and deliver training services. "This partnership will enable us to expand our customer base in the region as well as offer the same level of service that we do for our customers in North America," said Horizons sales and marketing director Jules Bouchard.

Bouchard said that collaboration with a global distributor based in Asia Pacific such as Gurango Software is a long overdue initiative for the company. "Asia Pacific is a growing market and we have always wanted to establish a stronger presence here. We feel that organizations which have an intimate understanding of the region, such as Gurango Software, will be more successful in developing this market than distributors from North America."

"The difference in time zones makes it difficult to serve clients in the Asia Pacific region. We are optimistic that our relationship with Gurango Software will better position us to service the needs of our clients and provide the opportunity to offer our products to a broader segment of the market," Bouchard said.

The partnership is an offshoot of Horizons International's business relationship with WEBWORKS OS, the local software engineering firm headed by Gurango Software founder and CEO Joey Gurango. WEBWORKS OS developed Horizons' next generation manufacturing suite designed to run on the Microsoft .NET framework.

"Because of the excellent development work done for us by WEBWORKS OS, we have come to trust Joey Gurango and have full confidence that he will be putting the same amount of effort into servicing our clients as he has in helping develop our solutions," Bouchard said.

Established in 1987, Horizons International (www.hzs.com) develops MBS solutions for the medium-size manufacturing market. The company was recently cited for being among the first to pass Microsoft's MBS ISV solution test.
