Reusable Planet Enters Fundraising Partnership with Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland

Reusable Planet, a web-based business that offers schools, club and other organizations an earth-friendly way to raise money, announced today that it has entered into a fund-raising partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland.

Under the agreement, a Reusable Planet button will be added to the Boys and Girls Club's8217; website, www.boysandgirlsclub.info. Visitors to the website will be able to click on a Reusable Planet button and then buy printer ink cartridges from the Reusable Planet website, www.reusableplanet.org. For every $10 worth of ink cartridges purchased, the Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland will receive $1.

's8220;It's8217;s a win-win agreement, and we's8217;re excited about this new way to raise money for our programs,'s8221; said Carl Porter, the club's8217;s Teen Center director. 's8220;We hope to raise several thousand dollars every year through this partnership with Reusable Plant.'s8221;

The agreement is typical of how schools, club, non-profits and other organizations can raise money by partnering with Reusable Planet, said Dan Salazar, Reusable Planet's8217;s president.

's8220;Groups like the Boys Club and Girls Club of Cleveland have been working hard to raise funds in all kinds of ways for many years,'s8221; Salazar said. 's8220;We envisioned something a little different 's8211; fund-raising that generates much-needed money while actually helping the environment at the same time.'s8221;

Reusable Planet offers remanufactured inkjet cartridges and toners. It also provides a recycling program to keep printer ink cartridges out of landfills.

The agreement with Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland is unique because it is a partnership that involves additional community members. Brewer Broadcasting plans to publicize the agreement on its radio stations, and will post information about the program on its websites, Alive 105 WALV-FM (www.alive105.com), Cat Country 93.9 WAYA-FM (www.catcountry939.com), 95.3 Jack-FM WHJK-FM (www.953jackfm.com), and WBAC-AM (www.wbacradio.com).The Keystone Club, a Boys and Girls Club organization that teaches business and leadership principles to teens, will help market the program.

Salazar will help mentor the youngsters as they put together a marketing plan for the inkjet program.

's8220;The kids have already come up with some very exciting ideas,'s8221; Salazar said.

Personal computers have greatly increased productivity, but one downside is the sheer number of old ink cartridges that get thrown away. Industry experts estimate about a million ink cartridges are thrown away every single day; less than 10 percent are recycled.
