It has now been four and some years since the ERA started collecting old computers otherwise destined to the landfill. Many of the computers collected were very much in working and usable
condition. Many of them came from various landfills from across Alberta and from many large companies, government departments and individuals. A large portion of computers was donated
into the local communities with many non profit organizations, charities, and poor people.
Today the ERA is still collecting old computers and electronics for donation and recycling. Our charity request list has grown to a large list, requiring upwards of 50,000 computers to be
donated into the community Alberta and British Columbia wide. World wide requests for usable computers surpass 100,000 computers and laptops.
Unfortunately in Alberta all computers that end up in landfills and immediately recycled by the Alberta government. In the past our organization had the ability to collect them, refurbish
them, reuse them, and provide them to local charitable and non profit groups.
This is why now the ERA is making its voice heard. With the launch of our newly designed website Canada wide, which is much easier to navigate, ERA hopes to attract all corporations,
businesses, government departments and individuals to donate their computers first, before disposing of them elsewhere.
You can preview our newly designed website at www.calgarycomputerdonationsandrecycling.com or click on the preview link on our old website at www.era.ca on the news section.
Please tell us if there is any glitches, or errors on the website. If you have computers or laptops to donate please fill out the form on the website. If you have colleagues or friends
that may have old computers for donation or recycling please forward this message to them.
