West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan Area Schools are enhancing their recycling efforts district-wide.
Lisa Johnson, Energy Manager for the district announced that In keeping with the district'ss commitment to sustainable use of our resources, plastic water bottles will be replaced by
water packaged in more eco-friendly aluminum cans.
In addition, composting will be added as a part of all school lunch programs.
CannedWater4Kids.org will be supplying the water in cans.
Ms. Johnson chose CannedWater4Kids because of how good it tastes, and the fact that the group uses all money collected from the sale of their product to help bring clean, safe water to
children everywhere. That includes water initiatives like, the drilling of wells, water filters and the like. When someone buys a can of CannedWater4Kids purified spring water, Ms.
Johnson said., they are not only helping the environment, but they are helping to fund projects that will bring clean water to those who are without.
A Kickoff of the districts's enhanced recycling efforts will take place on Friday, September 4th during the Henry Sibley High School Home Football game. Canned Water will be sold at all
home games (Sept. 4, 17th and Oct. 2nd).
