If every car in this country was a hybrid vehicle by the year 2025, we would still import just as much foreign oil, due the increase in the number of vehicles on the road.
We have no blueprint in place to become independent of foreign sources of energy.
Our dependence on foreign oil negatively impacts our national security, economic security, foreign policy, the war on terrorism and our future position in the world.
Billions of dollars are being spent on disparate alternative energy programs. We call for the United States government to act on the precedent of the â 8364; 732;Manhattan Projectâ 8364;
8482; and bring together the best minds from the private and public sectors and the resources currently being spent on various alternative energy plans and focus on three simple
tasks:
1.
Identify the alternative form of energy / fuel that would most quickly reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
2.
Identify the factors that prevent that best alternative energy source from being utilized today.
3.
Once identified, focus all available resources on eliminating those factors.
We call for a viable, deliverable alternative energy source by 2010.
Energy Petition.com does not endorse or oppose any particular form of alternative energy. Our focus is on improving the future security of the United States. In order to ensure our
future, we believe that it is critical to eliminate our dependence on foreign oil.
Energy Petition.com is not affiliated with any political party, energy company or advocacy group. Energy Petition .com is the effort of an individual U.S. citizen, deeply concerned by the
apparent lack of national resolve to address this critical issue.
