firms in endorsement of the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency.
The National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency, announced July 31 at the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commission, proposes national policy recommendations for creating a
sustainable, aggressive commitment to energy efficiency through gas and electric utilities, utility regulators, and partner organizations. Regional studies have estimated that adoption of
energy efficiency strategies could yield up to 20 percent savings in electricity demand nationwide by 2025. Realization of goals of the national action plan to could save Americans an
estimated $250 billion on energy bills over the next 10 to 15 years, as well as enhance national energy security, and improve the environment.

of cost-effective energy efficiency; communication of the benefits of and opportunities for energy efficiency; promotion of funding to deliver cost effective energy efficiency programs;
modification of policies and ratemaking practices to align utility incentives for cost-effective energy efficiency and to promote energy efficiency investments. The National Plan for
Energy Efficiency was devised by over 50 leading organizations, representing utilities, regulators and energy industry companies, and has had over 72 different entities commit to take
specific actions related to the initiative.
