More Environmentally Friendly Decorator Greens up Tradeshow Events

Eager to capitalize on the growing "green" tradeshow sector, Stetson Convention Services offers the tradeshow industry an environmentally responsible General Contractor & Decorator. They are the official General Service Contractor for the International Greenbuild Conference and Exposition, which showcases the leading green technologies and products in the building industry.



The Greenbuild conference, only in its fourth year, and has seen tremendous growth. We had to be very creative and think out of the box in order to come up with ways to green the decorating side of our industry, says Bill. Once we got started it was extraordinary how many green products were available that we felt could be incorporated into tradeshows without added cost to show managers.



There are some obvious ways Stetson has greened its business: purchasing recycled paper products, green cleaning products, utilizing wind power at its corporate offices, and donating used expo carpet as opposed to throwing it away.



However, Stetson is now offering recycled carpet for aisles and booths, that is fully recyclable into more fiber and backing at the end of its use. Incorporating Woodstalk, in place of wood, which is made from wheat straw fiber, fully recyclable sign board, bio-degradable wastebasket liners made from cornstarch, energy star approved lighting in registration counters, and natural gas powered forklifts.



Stetson also utilizes railcars which are much more energy efficient and cleaner, to transport its equipment. They provide show site waste recycling programs and partner with many exhibitors to donate left over products to local venues in need of various items.
