ResortQuest Steamboat Introduces New Line Environmentally Friendly...



The Thymes Eucalyptus scented body products are packaged in PaperBottles made of 75% paper. They are printed with water soluble inks and varnishes which eliminate harmful pollutants caused by other types of inks and varnishes. Best of all, the PaperBottle is recyclable.



ResortQuest has started using the Thymes Eucalyptus PaperBottles as part of their commitment to the Steamboat Springs (http://www.resortqueststeamboat.com) Chamber Resort Association Sustainable Business Certification program. In November 2008, ResortQuest Steamboat was awarded Gold Certification status in the Chamber'ss Sustainable Business Program.



When empty, the PaperBottles collapse, taking up 92% less waste space. After use, 100 1oz plastic bottles will occupy 432 cubic inches of space while 100 1oz PaperBottles will occupy only 32 cubic inches. That is almost an 83% reduction in waste space.



These bottles also result in less wasted product. In the average plastic bottle, 20-30% of the product (shampoo, body soap, lotion, etc.) is left when the bottle is thrown away. The paper bottle, however, allows full dispersal of the product, leaving behind only about 1% of the product after use.



The Thyme Eucalyptus scented body products blend eucalyptus oil, Italian lemon, lime and pettigrain. This invigorating combination will wake you up and help you start the day feeling fresh and energetic.



Thyme products are never tested on animals and include a guarantee of safe ingredients.



The Sustainable Business Certification requires that a business demonstrate a reduction in energy usage, a plan to reduce, recycle and reuse as much of their waste stream as is feasible, and to put in place water conservation practices. Additionally, a comprehensive analysis of policies, practices and purchasing habits is undertaken so that improvements can be identified.



Other sustainable initiatives being implemented by ResortQuest Steamboat include a comprehensive guest recycling program. Each of ResortQuest'ss 300+ Steamboat vacation rentals (http://www.resortqueststeamboat.com) will have recycling receptacles which will be collected daily by a special Green Team. Paper, paperboard, plastics 1-7, glass, tin, and aluminum will all be stored and collected separately from non-recyclable trash in containers and recycling centers provided by the company.



This ski season, ResortQuest is trialing Green-KeyTM paperboard electronic keys which are made of renewable resources and are recyclable. They have transitioned to Cascades North River recycled tissue paper products and walnut shell kitchen scrubbing sponges. Guest information on sustainable practices is included in the check-in package, and guests are welcomed to their vacation home with a delectable gift of chocolate confectionary created by Yepello Chocolates 's38; Confections, hand-made in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
